About the Event

As a Cultural heritage, Choral music is a vital part of many cultures, reflecting their histories, traditions and values.
It often serves as a way to pass down stories and customs through generations fostering a sense of community and teamwork. One of such musical lyrics identified as a real cultural heritage is choral music. Choral music is a kind of music usually sung by a choir with each part being sung by two or more voices. Choral music is part of our heritage as Ghanaians.

Choral Music serves as a tourist attraction and is one of the most unique attractions any country can have in terms of promoting tourism, hence should be promoted as a cultural attraction.

Ghana, recognized for its legendary involvement in research and musical education through the many universities and music schools, deserves to recognize those actors who sustainably devote their knowledge and energy to this artistic diversity.

One of such individuals is Mr. Kenn Kafui (1940 – 2020).

A distinguished and popular composer whose name will carry this festival in order to honor his memory and preserve his legacy.

The Objectives

  • To celebrate, commemorate and promote the compositional works of Kenn Kafui
  • To preserve Kenn Kafui memory and his legacy
  • To offer artists and musicians a platform to reach wider audiences, encouraging cultural exchange and the
    dissemination of new ideas and artistic expressions.
  • To provide opportunities to meet new people and learn about other cultures.
  • To showcase Ghana as a tourism hub through the participation of foreign choirs
  • will boost the economy of the host country
